sharing in the measures of life

Over the years there have been so many fabulous musicians! All together now~

Get to Know Darcey

From the age of 9 I knew I wanted to make music and tender with my voice.  After a few shows singing Downtown and Annie Ross's Twisted at 12 years old, there was no other option.  At 16 I sold flowers at a train station and yes I sang for tips.

I learned the Great American Songbook from our player piano, Country from John Denver and Rheba, Cabaret from you know, Liza, Motown from Diana Ross and the Supremes and all the rest of the greats and Vocalese from King Pleasure and Lambert, Hendricks and Ross and wrote my first song about my softball coaches love affair with Robby.  I couldn't read music worth a lick but have a memory like an elephant with songs to pull out at a call of request.

It's been 46 years I've been singing through the measures, with gigs from 5 nights a week and 5 weddings a weekend, to Mayors parties, concerts, libraries, thousands of restaurants, supermarkets, (don't giggle) and any life event you could imagine, cradle sides to grave sides.  My Love Sent Singing Phonegram was a hit for years and continues to be (need one?) I share my love of Music with the little music makers in my Darcey's Jam Wagon classes.  My favorite concert is my next one, maybe you'll join me, Celebrating Vocalese~

I know more people's favorite songs, sometimes not even their names, but I connect through their joy of a song that means something to them.

Written and recorded songs for award winning indie movies, my Husband, (My Favorite Present 2019,a remake of 2014 Jazz version) my family and The Kitchen Sessions on Facebook during covid where so fun connecting with people through their requests. I may have to start them up again. My CD's are available on this site and on Amazon.  Still singing, Still Swinging! Hop on the mailing list and come to a concert or get a Singing Phonegram. Peruse the site, let me know your favorite song.

Fun Fact: As the anesthesiologist was putting me under for a surgery, instead of counting backward I sang his favorite song "When I Fall in Love"
